Unsur-Unsur Liturgi dalam Ibadah Kristen Protestan

Abstract

Liturgy is an essential part of Christian worship because it serves as a means for believers to express their faith and respond to God’s work. However, in practice, liturgy is often understood merely as a sequence of worship activities without recognizing the theological meaning of each element. This study aims to understand the elements of liturgy in Christian worship and explain their functions and meanings in the life of the congregation. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach by examining relevant literature on liturgical theology, church history, and academic sources. The findings show that liturgical elements, including the votum and greeting, congregational singing, confession of sin, assurance of grace, Scripture reading, sermon, prayer, offering, confession of faith, and sending and blessing, contain interconnected theological meanings. These elements form a faith journey in which believers encounter God, receive His Word, respond in faith, and live out their calling as witnesses of Christ. Therefore, liturgy is not merely a sequence of worship activities but a means of shaping the faith and spirituality of the congregation..
