Abstract

Advancements in information and communication technology have transformed how children interact with the digital world; primary school students, in particular, have become accustomed to using devices for communication, information gathering, and gaming. These activities inadvertently create digital footprints that can have both positive and negative consequences if not managed wisely. This article describes an educational initiative regarding the importance of managing digital footprints, conducted with Grade 5B students at a primary school over three sessions: August 24, August 27, and September 3, 2026. The methods employed included interactive lectures, presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The results indicate that students gained a better understanding of the definition, forms, and nature of digital footprints, and demonstrated greater caution in their online activities. This initiative is intended to serve as a model for digital literacy education that can be implemented sustainably at the primary school level.
