This community service study examines the role of communication psychology in fostering children's self-confidence through the “Lomba Islami Anak Ceria” (Cheerful Islamic Children's Competition) held at At-Taqwa Mosque, Gaden Village, Trucuk District, Klaten Regency. The program was initiated following observations that many early childhood and elementary school children attending local Quranic learning centers lacked self-confidence, felt shy, and hesitated to perform publicly. The study employed a participatory approach integrating communication psychology principles, supported by evaluation through direct observation and qualitative reflection. The program consisted of three stages: preparation through TPA mentoring, implementation of competitions, and evaluation. Activities included adhan recitation, Islamic quizzes, calligraphy coloring, short surah recitation, and interactive quizzes. Approximately 100 children from TPAs across Gaden Village participated, supported by 21 student volunteers. The results showed that friendly, empathetic, and supportive communication strategies, combined with equal appreciation for all participants, created a safe and comfortable social environment. Children demonstrated greater enthusiasm, more active participation, and increased courage in interacting and expressing themselves publicly. These findings highlight the importance of positive communication in supporting children's psychological development. This study concludes that a supportive environment grounded in communication psychology can effectively foster self-confidence in early childhood, particularly through engaging, inclusive, and enjoyable Islamic educational activities.
