Denah Wilayah sebagai Wajah Baru Pelayanan Publik Kelurahan Bencah Lesung

Abstract

This community service program was carried out by students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau, through the FISIP Berdampak untuk Negeri (FBN) scheme in Bencah Lesung Village, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City, an area of about 10.10 km2 inhabited by 10,718 residents across 10 neighbourhood units (RW) and 39 sub-neighbourhood units (RT). The program aimed to design and install a village map and area layout as a public information medium to help residents, village officials, and visitors identify administrative boundaries, road networks, and public facilities. The method consisted of field observation, coordination with the village office to collect boundary and facility data, map design and verification, printing of a 150 cm x 100 cm map on durable material, and installation at a strategic location in front of the village office. All four planned indicators, namely data availability, map design and printing, installation, and improved public access to spatial information, were achieved. The main obstacle, low participation from residents and part of the village apparatus during installation, was resolved through intensive coordination with the head of RW 02 and village officials. The map is expected to support transparent and accountable village governance and can be developed further through periodic data updates or digital (QR code) integration.
