Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh beban akademik dan self-efficacy terhadap burnout mahasiswa Fakultas Teknik Universitas Malikussaleh dengan academic engagement sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 120 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling berbasis Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beban akademik berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap burnout, sedangkan self-efficacy dan academic engagement berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap burnout. Self-efficacy juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap academic engagement, sementara beban akademik tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap academic engagement. Dalam pengujian mediasi, academic engagement tidak memediasi hubungan antara beban akademik dan burnout, tetapi mampu memediasi hubungan antara self-efficacy dan burnout. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguatan self-efficacy dan academic engagement dapat menjadi aspek penting dalam mengurangi burnout mahasiswa, sedangkan beban akademik perlu dikelola untuk mencegah peningkatan burnout.
